Pookus and Buckie
Sandy Clark, 2005
Sandy sent me this wonderfully sweet book she wrote for children about differences and friendship. It's based on a true story, and I think it would be a great addition to an elementary classroom library. There is also a curriculum to use along with the book and other materials including photos of the real Pookus (her Yorkie) and Buckie (a deer). You can find out more about the book at the website www.pookusandbuckie.com.
